Dog Desk Animal Action Magazine Autumn 2026
Dog Desk Animal Action Magazine brings together the stories, science, history and welfare issues that shape the lives of dogs.
In our Autumn 2026 issue, we travel from the dogs of Ancient Egypt and the remarkable history of the Saluki to the Ethiopian wolf and Africa’s last wild dogs. We explore how humans created the extraordinary diversity of the modern dog, how street dogs learn to survive alongside us, and what research can tell us about the bonds dogs form and the way they respond to loss.
We also look at the realities of rescue. Not every successful rescue ends with adoption, and we consider why sanctuary can sometimes become home, why knowing an individual dog matters, and why quality of life should remain at the heart of every decision.
With autumn comes Bonfire Night, so this issue also steps into the experience of dogs frightened by fireworks, alongside a journey into the folklore of black dogs, ghost dogs and hellhounds.
Every issue is free to read. You can view the flip book here or if you prefer you can download it by going through checkout. If you choose that option the download will be available to you in your email.
For anyone interested in dogs their history, behaviour, welfare and the extraordinary relationship they share with us the Autumn issue offers something a little different.
